Description
Due to its historic free entrance policy and its lack of government funding, The British Museum had to face a record expected deficit of £ 6 millon in mid 2002. Neil MacGregor, the museum's new manager, had no choice but to make cuts in personnel. These cuts are now effective; no direct dismissals were performed.
