European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
This Belgian restructuring plan affecting 430 employees is part of the worldwilde restructuring plan of Bayer. The belgian restructuring hits the "polymer" division. There are no direct dismissals, trade unions and management have finally found an agreement on the restructuring plan. The trade unions have obtained the guarantee that in the event of new dismissals before 2008, the allowances to the workers will be equivalent to those of the employees. The company BSI is closing due to this restructuring (see BSI factsheet).
