Description
Sotra Link Construction, a construction joint venture operating in Norway, announced approximately 100 redundancies on 6 October 2026 at the Sotrasambandet road and bridge project between Bergen and Øygarden. Employment will fall from around 500 to 400.
Management attributed the reduction to completion of certain activities and adjustment of staffing to the remaining work. It stated that the project delays were not the reason for the redundancies.
Norsk Arbeidsmandsforbund’s local branch reported enquiries from members and expressed concern about the potential scale of job losses. Employer organisation Maskinentreprenørenes Forbund warned of pressure on an already weak regional construction market.
