European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Theo Müller, a dairy and food products company, based out of Luxembourg, announced the closure of a production line at its site in Rogätz, Saxony Anhalt. The production line belongs to its subsidiary Homann Feinkost. The closure will result in about 160 job cuts by the end of September 2027 when the site closes.
The production line was found to have an unsustainable cost structure combined with a high need for investment. Therefore, management deemed the site non-viable in the long term. Moreover, sauce is bottled in glass jars in Rogätz while there is a declining demand for sauces that are bottled in jars.
Management and works council are negotiating social solutions such as internal redeployment, contract adjustments and training opportunities. The closure only affects the sites in Rogätz.
Theo Müller also announced the closure of a production line that belongs to its subsudiary Sachsenmilch: Theo Müller 2026 - DE.
Theo Müller has around 35,000 employees across 22 different locations in Europe. The Homann feinkost factory is among multiple production lines that are operated by Theo Müller in Rogätz.
