Description
Wollsdorf Components announced the closure of its production facility in Jalžabet, Varaždin County, Croatia, in October 2026.
The closure follows declining demand for leather products in the European automotive industry and the company's deteriorating competitiveness.
Employment contracts have been terminated for 285 workers, with employment expected to end by mid-December 2026. Production will be phased out by year-end. Negotiations could preserve 15-25 jobs under new ownership.
The company, part of Austria's Wollsdorf Group, has operated in Croatia since 2013, manufacturing leather components for the automotive and aviation industries.
