Description

Kiefel GmbH, a German mechanical engineering firm, has announced plans to eliminate approximately 130 positions at its headquarter in Freilassing, Bavaria.

The company plans to transform the site into a “Technology Center of Excellence” focused on research and development for packaging solutions.

The restructuring is driven by trade conflicts, geopolitical uncertainties and market dynamics that are putting increasing pressure on competitiveness and cost structures. The planned job cuts are confined to the Freilassing site.

The company is in discussions with the works council regarding the measures.

The company employs around 500 people.

In 2024 the company had already cut around 100 jobs in Freilassing: Kiefel 2024 - DE.
