European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Prisma Peremarket, a Finnish retail company under the SOK Group, announced a reduction of 67 jobs in its support unit in Estonia on 16 September 2026. This accounts for about 10 % of its total workforce of 655 employees in Estonia, with the notice period ranging from one to three months. The cuts are limited to the support functions and do not affect the company's retail network.
The restructuring follows the sale of Prisma Peremarket to Coop Eesti Keskühistu and aims to streamline operations under a new ownership structure, ensuring greater competitiveness in Estonia's tight-margin retail market. While specific details on how employees will be dismissed are not provided, the company has pledged to offer alternative roles where possible and is cooperating with the Estonian Employment Service to provide job-search assistance. The final number of redundancies will be determined within the process of transforming from Prisma to Coop.
