Description

Baiersbronn Frischfaser Karton GmbH, a German packaging manufacturer specialising in corrugated cartons for the food, pharmaceutical and cosmetics sectors, announced the permanent closure of its plant in Baiersbronn, resulting in 220 job cuts.

All employees will be dismissed by 07/09/2026 after the company completes remaining orders.

The shutdown follows insolvency proceedings triggered by high production and energy costs, combined with a sharp decline in orders, and an unsuccessful search for new investment.

The layoffs affect only the Baiersbronn site; all dismissals are direct due to plant closure.

The firm reported €80 million revenue last year and had 220 staff at the time of announcement.
