Description

Indorama Ventures Mobility Luxembourg, a Thai-owned textile specialist, announced it would close its Steinfort site in Luxembourg, cutting around 100 jobs.

The plant is its production unit for reinforcement fabrics used in industrial applications. The shutdown will take effect later this month after the company signed a social plan with trade unions OGBL and LCGB.

The decision follows a steep decline in demand from a single major customer and the impact of the Longlaville supplier closure, which weakened Steinfort’s operations. Social partners OGBL and LCGB played a central role in drafting the social plan to support workers during the transition. Negotiations with union representatives were intensive, resulting in training and placement assistance for affected staff.

The job losses are concentrated at the Steinfort location.
