Description

Valmet Tissue, a Finnish manufacturer of machinery for the pulp and paper industries in Sweden, announced that 91 jobs at its Karlstad plant might be cut as part of a restructuring plan to relocate services to Finland and India.

The company has 1,600 employees in total in Sweden, with roughly 115 people across the country expected to be affected by the overall reductions.

Negotiations with employee representatives began in late August 2026. The reductions are driven by a cost-saving strategy that includes relocating work abroad.
