European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Żarówka, a Polish manufacturing firm located in Pabianice, announced the closure of its century-old plant, resulting in 474 job losses.
The factory’s operations will cease by the end of December, with layoffs commencing in September and finalizing at the end of the year.
The decision follows failed attempts to secure an investor and the lack of financial viability for the facility, leading management to opt for permanent shutdown rather than restructuring or relocation.
All 474 employees are affected within Pabianice, receiving a three-month notice period that constitutes direct dismissals.
