European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Lieferando, a food-delivery company operating in Germany, reportedly plans to reduce around 100 IT positions in Berlin. The implementation date has not been reported.
According to NGG and DGB, tasks will increasingly be performed by artificial intelligence and consolidated in a shared service centre in Poland, indicating a possible intra-group offshoring of activities.
Lieferando stated that it remained unclear whether the planned reduction would result in dismissals. NGG and DGB criticised the plans. Employees and the trade union are also campaigning against subcontracting chains and in favour of direct employment in the delivery sector.
Lieferando employs around 2,000 people in Berlin.
