European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
La Poste, the French national postal operator, announced cutting 110 jobs until the end of 2027 in its administrative and management functions. The layoff aim to reduce costs of La Poste and guarantee the long-term financial autonomy of the company. Management has stated that while the new services have not been sufficient to cover La Poste's growing costs, service quality will be maintained, and the customer service sector will not be impacted by the layoffs.
The changes will affect employees across France. Trade unions have expressed concern and called for alternatives such as redeployment and retraining before any dismissals are enacted.
La Poste has several large restructurings recorded on the ERM database, primarily in France, and its last mention was a hiring campaign for 190 vacancies in Perpignan (Occitanie) La Poste 2025 - FR.
