European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Walcownia Metali Dziedzice, a Polish brass-processing company operating in the metal manufacturing sector and owned by Boryszew Group, has agreed a collective redundancy plan affecting up to 150 production and support workers at its Czechowice-Dziedzice facility in the Silesian region. The restructuring was announced in July 2026 and the dismissals are scheduled to take place between July 2026 and February 2027.
According to management, the reduction is necessary to preserve the company’s financial liquidity and adapt its operating model to challenging market conditions. The company employes 447 people.
The final number of redundancies was reduced from the initially proposed 200 positions to a maximum of 150 following negotiations. Trade union representatives, including Solidarność, participated in negotiations with management regarding the planned redundancies. The negotiations resulted in an agreement limiting the number of dismissals and providing additional support for workers approaching retirement age.
