European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Uber, a United States transport technology company, dismissed more than 150 employees at its Kraków business services centre through a collective redundancy procedure completed at the end of July 2026.
The company attributes the cuts to simplifying its organisational structure, merging teams and reducing costs, as part of a global reduction of around 3,300 posts. Employees report that tasks are being transferred to India, indicating possible offshoring.
All departures are compulsory. Staff serving notice were asked to train replacements brought to Kraków from India, and were offered financial incentives to take part. A further wave affecting several dozen employees is reported but unconfirmed.
