Description

The Prague Zoo, an organisation run by the city of Prague, has announced that it will expand its staff by 39 positions by January next year, focusing on positions in the field of animal care. The first wave of recruitment will begin on September 1st with the aim of acquiring 24 new employees, and the second wave will begin in January 2027 and will bring in 15 more employees.

The expansion aims to improve staffing conditions, which were highlighted by a previous investigation that revealed staff shortages, overwork and low wages. By increasing the number of employees, the zoo wants to better distribute the workload, reduce reliance on overtime and improve the overall working atmosphere.

All new hires will be based in Prague, and the total number of employees will increase from 250 to 289.
