Description
Pinqponq, a Cologne-based German manufacturer of backpacks and bags, is to be sold in an asset deal to Kapten & Son, as announced by the parent company FOND OF. The divestment is expected to result in the loss of approximately 30 jobs.
The restructuring forms part of a strategic shift away from lifestyle brands and towards a stronger focus on family and children's products. The company cited strategic and economic reasons, including weak demand for high-priced adult products and recent losses.
As Pinqponq employs around 300 people, the planned reduction represents approximately 10% of its workforce.
