European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Næromsorg AS, a Norwegian child protection service provider, announced the termination of about 130 staff through its bankruptcy proceeding. The layoffs affect employees at care facilities in southern Norway, including in Kristiansand and Stord.
The bankruptcy followed allegations of misconduct, including the use of unskilled workers and forgery of documents provided to authorities. At the time of the announcement in July, approximately 50 employees had been legally dismissed, while about 80 awaited formal termination. The formal bankruptcy proceedings will start in court at the end of August 2026. The company employed approximately 130 people at the time of the bankruptcy.
