Description

Biomasa Sierra de Gata SL, a Spanish bioenergy firm, announced plans to create around one hundred jobs at its new pellet manufacturing and distribution plant in Villasbuenas de Gata.

The facility will start testing on 18 August 2026 and reach full production by 31 October 2026. The expansion converts forest residue from Sierra de Gata and Las Hurdes into fuel pellets, supporting rural employment, reducing combustible loads and mitigating wildfire risk. The plant will also supply domestic and industrial markets, with contracts already secured, positioning it among Spain’s five largest pellet producers and bolstering local economic resilience through sustainable forest management.
