European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Durisotti, a French automotive body-building company, within the GTE Automotive group, was liquidated following the decision of the court, rendering 161 employees redundant at its sites in Sallaumines, Bapaume, Lesquin and Avion. Employees received official notices and are not entitled to severance beyond statutory entitlements. This liquidation is part of the liquidation of the GTE Automotive group.
The trade union representatives of the company expressed their surprise at the liquidation of the group. They had been expecting the company's bankruptcy but not the firing of all 350 employees.
