Description
Universitätsklinikum Frankfurt, a German public hospital, is planning to cut up to 500 jobs.
The planned reductions are expected to affect primarily administrative roles. The restructuring programme, which has been overseen by an external consultancy since February 2026, is intended to address persistent financial deficits that reached approximately €21 million last year. The initiative forms part of broader efforts to restore the hospital's financial stability following a prolonged period of losses.
While the hospital has confirmed that job cuts will take place, it has not yet confirmed the exact number of positions affected or how the measures will be implemented. Several employees have, however, reported that up to 500 jobs could be at risk.
Universitätsklinikum Frankfurt employs around 8,500 people.
