The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
1&1, a German telecommunications company, has announced the reduction of approximately 60 positions at its customer operations site in Zweibrücken.
The job cuts form part of an internal restructuring programme aimed at aligning staffing levels with changing service requirements, driven by increased automation, the use of artificial intelligence, and growing customer adoption of self-service channels.
The workforce reduction will be implemented through a voluntary programme offering severance packages to eligible employees. The arrangements are being handled on an individual basis, as the Zweibrücken site does not have a works council.
The site employs around 350 people, meaning that the planned reduction represents approximately 17% of the workforce.
