Description

Carrefour Services Clients, the French customer-service of the Carrefour distribution group, announced the closure of its call centre in Saint-Étienne, which will result of one hundred job cuts. The unit has been operated since 1999 and is scheduled to shut down at the end of December. Several employees have been offered internal reclassifications. At the headquarters in Évry-Courcouronnes, ten internal reclassifications are also in progress.

The management justifies the restructuring by a structural decline in customer complaints and an increased demand for immediate responses. The trade union, FO, criticised the outsourcing strategy as means to reduce costs and protested the decision.

Social partners and employee representatives are currently negotiating with management, through the works council. They mandated a consulting firm to handle negotiations.

Several large-scale restructurings have been recorded in ERM, with the latest recorded in Poland in 2026 Carrefour Polska 2026 - PL.
