Description
JTEKT Czech Republic, a Japanese-owned automotive component manufacturer based in Plzen, Czechia, announced the elimination of roughly 300 positions. The reduction represents almost half its workforce from its production plant and associated support roles.
The decision is part of a strategic reshaping aimed at stabilising the branch and aligning capacity with market dynamics. The plant will remain operational with a reduced workforce. The Employment Office is in contact with the company and has offered to provide assistance.
Dismissals are scheduled to begin at the end of August 2026, with reductions expected within that month. All affected employees will receive severance pay, and production remains ongoing in Czechia.
The site employed 620 staff before the cuts, and its parent Jtekt Corporation continues unchanged operations elsewhere.
