European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Concentrix, an American outsourcing firm, has announced the elimination of 154 jobs at its A Coruña customer-service center in Spain. The unit, which originally employed 387 staff, will see these positions terminated by the end of August 2026.
The layoffs stem from Microsoft’s decision to close two support campaigns—CTS and SCIM—in the city. The cuts result from a strategic withdrawal by Microsoft and Concentrix’s reliance on that single client, which has rendered the center highly vulnerable.
Although no new clients have been secured and there are no indications of relocation or offshoring, Concentrix has attempted to improve dismissal terms through collective agreements with unions. The first wave of 75 dismissals took effect on the 31st of July, while a second group of 79 staff will be dismissed later in the month.
Collective negotiations have involved the trade-union groups CIG, CCOO and UGT, with CGT opting not to sign the agreement.
Updated, 27/08/2026 The second ERE in Concentrix’s A Coruña centre dismissed 79 workers after a first wave of 75, bringing total layoffs to 154 by 31 August 2026. Negotiations with unions ended without agreement and the committee will challenge the ERE in court.
