Description

Robert Bosch GmbH announced the closure of its Bosch Engineering Center Sofia, resulting in approximately 670 redundancies. The restructuring will be implemented in two phases, with around 400 employees expected to leave in 2026 and the remaining 270 by mid-2027.

The engineering centre, located in Sofia Tech Park, specialises in automotive technologies, including driver assistance systems, automated driving and electromobility. According to the company, the decision is driven by declining automotive production volumes, the ongoing technological transformation of the automotive sector, slower-than-expected uptake of electric vehicles and autonomous driving technologies, and changing market demand. Affected employees will receive compensation equivalent to six gross monthly salaries.
