Description
FN Herstal, a Belgian defence manufacturer, announced the construction of a new cartridge factory at Pré Madame in Herstal, Belgium, which will create approximately one hundred jobs and become operational in 2027.
This expansion underlines its commitment to supplying all metal components for French munitions. The project follows a contract with the French Defence Ministry and reflects growing demand from NATO partners. It represents a significant investment of over €50 million aimed at consolidating production capabilities within Wallonia, enhancing regional industrial capacity and strengthening Belgium-France defence cooperation.
All job creation is concentrated in Herstal (Pré Madame). The facility will employ local workers across manufacturing and support functions, with no impact on existing sites elsewhere in Belgium or abroad.
