European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Amazon, an American e-commerce and logistics firm, has announced the opening of a new Distribution Center in La Muela, Zaragoza.
The facility will initiate operations next 7 September with the creation of 100 jobs, and it is expected to create up to 600 jobs over the next years, with full staffing expected by 31/12/2029.
The expansion aims to speed delivery of high-turnover products across Spain, reinforcing Amazon’s supply chain network in Aragon where it already employs more than 1 000 workers.
The company has experienced several business expansion periods in 2022Amazon 2022-ES, 2023Amazon 2023-ES, 2024 Amazon 2024-ES and 2026 Amazon 2026-ES, with job increases of 2000, 1000 and 400, respectively, and a job loss of 920 in 2026
