Description

Wacker-Chemie, a subsidiary of the international chemical group Wacker Chemie headquartered in Germany, has announced the opening of a new silicone production plant in Karlovy Vary, which will create approximately 200 jobs.

This plant expands Wacker’s European network and will focus on the production of high-performance silicones for the automotive, energy, and healthcare markets, as well as the household appliances sector. The facility will specialize in room-temperature-curing silicones and solid silicone rubber. The activity of Pilsen in silicone rubbers will be gradually moved to Karlovy Vary.

This expansion is driven by megatrends such as electromobility, renewable energy, and digitalization. Panattoni, the largest developer of industrial real estate, in Czechia, has completed the building whose construction started 2 years ago.
