Description
ROQ, a Portuguese textile technology company based in Vila Nova de Famalicão, has announced a collective redundancy process affecting around 11% of its workforce, leaving the company with approximately 400 employees. Based on the company's statement that it will retain around 400 employees, the restructuring is estimated to result in approximately 50 job cuts. The decision was announced in July 2026 and has already been communicated to the affected employees.
The restructuring is intended to adapt the group's organisational structure to changing market conditions, strengthen competitiveness and prepare the business for future challenges.
According to the company, the decision follows a decline in orders in recent months and the evolving economic environment. ROQ plans to concentrate resources on strategic business areas while increasing investment in innovation, technological development and operational efficiency. The company stated that it will maintain operations across all the markets in which it operates and continue delivering ongoing projects and customer services.
ROQ has more than 40 years of activity and exports its products to over 80 countries through its ROQ and ROQ Laser businesses.
