European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
DreiMeister Spezialitäten, a German confectionery manufacturer, announced the dismissal of its remaining 101 employees at the beginning of July 2026 following the opening of insolvency proceedings at its Westönnen site in Werl.
The company will be wound up after insolvency administrators failed to secure an investor or obtain a viable takeover offer. The shutdown was triggered by mounting financial pressures, including soaring raw-material costs during the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent energy crisis, which undermined the firm’s expansion strategy.
The insolvency led to immediate dismissal of all staff. The insolvency estate is insufficient to cover wages during the notice period, meaning the workers directly became entitled to unemployment benefits.
