European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Roquette Frères, a French specialist in plant derived ingredients, announced a restructuring of its operations in France that will lead to the elimination of 310 jobs, and plans to create 89 positions.
The move involves several sites, including the historic plant in Lestrem (Pas-de-Calais), the Lille headquarters (Hauts-de-France), and facilities in Vic sur Aisne (Somme), Vecquemont (Somme), and Beinheim (Bas-Rhin).
The company aims to respond to a challenging market environment marked by increased competition and declining customer demand. The restructuring is part of a broader transformation programme that also seeks to enhance internal mobility, voluntary departures, and re-classification of roles.
Social partners will be consulted on the transition measures, and the programme is expected to unfold over the coming months. Employee representatives and trade unions criticised the lack of transparency and respect for procedures. They have attempted, for instance, to include retirements in the job saving plan, to preserve employment.
