Description
Pepco, a European discount retail chain, announced a new distribution centre in Barniewice, near Gdańsk. The expansion will create more than 250 jobs, mainly in logistics, operations, HR, safety, IT and warehousing.
The facility will provide over 51,000 square meters of warehouse, office and social space and will become Pepco’s sixth distribution centre in Europe. The centre will serve hundreds of stores in Poland, increase direct-to-store deliveries and use the Blue Yonder warehouse management system. The expansion is linked to the company’s retail growth and supply chain transformation in Northern and Central Europe. Pepco operates over 4 100 stores across 18 European countries and employs more than 31,000 people worldwide.
