Description
OHB Rheinmetall Space Networks, a German joint venture between OHB and Rheinmetall launched in June 2026, will create up to 200 new jobs in Bremen.
The company aims to build a satellite-based communications network for the Bundeswehr, the German military. The project is intended to deliver a secure, Starlink-inspired network that strengthens Germany’s and Europe’s technological sovereignty.
The initiative reflects a digital transition driven by the need for advanced, automated communication infrastructure and an operationally capable Bundeswehr. As many as 200 satellites are planned for deployment over the next three years.
