Description
GIB EnergyX, a joint venture between the Chinese group Gotion and the Slovak company InoBat, announced the creation of around 1,300 jobs at its new gigafactory in Šurany, Slovakia.
Active recruitment has already started for operators, managers, engineers and graduate positions but the first round of employees recruited will first have to undergo a three months long training in China, after which they are expected to start their roles in Slovakia from September 2026, where they will receive further on the job training. Pilot production is scheduled to begin in 2026, followed by full-scale production in 2027. The company expects to recruit a substantial share of its workforce from Šurany and the surrounding region.
The project forms part of the electric vehicle battery supply chain and is driven by the green transition towards electromobility.
