Description
Radiators Spa, an Italian manufacturer of radiators and heating equipment, has announced the potential loss of around 200 jobs for production workers at its Moimacco plant in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. This reflects a long-standing structural crisis at the site, which was formerly owned by De'Longhi. Employment at the site has steadily declined from over 500 workers in previous years, and employees currently work reduced hours under solidarity contracts. The difficulties are linked to sector-wide challenges, the need for technological innovation, and the need for market diversification and transition-related adjustments.
Trade unions have raised concerns and called for urgent intervention. Regional authorities have been formally asked to act through an official inquiry presented to the Friuli Venezia Giulia regional government. The administration is assessing potential support measures, including financial instruments, worker retraining initiatives, and policies linked to industrial transition. These measures are intended to safeguard employment and support the site’s relaunch.
