European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Rietuva, a Lithuanian construction-materials manufacturer, announced the creation of 158 new jobs in its new plant located in Akmenė. The plant will begin operations in July 2026. The hiring is already ongoing and to be completed by July 2027. The facility is part of the Akmenės free economic zone and will produce wood panels used in the construction of walls, ceilings and roofs or other parts of building structures.
The expansion is driven by rising demand for sustainable building solutions across Europe and the integration of advanced digital production technologies, which improve accuracy, quality and resource efficiency. The new roles span production, technical specialties, engineering and administration, supporting the company’s goal of enhancing regional competitiveness and export potential.
