Description
König + Neurath, a German manufacturer of office and contract furniture, announced the dismissal of 130 employees at its site in Karben as part of its insolvency restructuring. The company had filed for insolvency in November 2025 and, in early June 2026, confirmed that the process and the associated job reductions had been completed.
The restructuring was driven by the need to establish a sustainable financial structure, streamline processes, and strengthen operational performance.
The 130 job cuts were carried out through direct redundancies, while the remaining employees are required to forgo special payments and salary increases. Following the conclusion of the insolvency proceedings, the company has resumed normal business operations.
Prior to the restructuring, the company employed around 830 people, meaning that approximately 700 employees were retained.
