Description
Revo Hospitality, a German hotel operator, announced the loss of 450 jobs at its Berlin headquarters at the beginning of June. The positions are being cut with immediate effect.
The restructuring stems from the company’s insolvency, which was filed at the beginning of 2026 due to liquidity gaps resulting from extensive expansion. Hotel bookings fell short of expectations.
There was strong interest in acquiring the hotels, and investors were ultimately found. As a result, most of the 5,450 positions across the hotels will remain intact. The hotels in Germany, the Netherlands, and Austria will continue operating under their new owners. All of the terminated 450 jobs are positions in Berlin head office.
Revo Hospitality was founded in 2008 with a hotel in Leipzig and most recently operated around 250 hotels. Its portfolio included brands such as Holiday Inn, Ibis, Intercity, Mövenpick, and Steigenberger, among others. The new owners will receive individual portfolios of hotels. For an additional 10 hotels of the hospitality group solutions are yet to be found. Negotioations will come to a close by mid-June 2026.
