Description
Stora Enso, a Swedish pulp and paper company, announced that a maximum of 80 jobs might be cut at its Skutskär plant. The closure is driven by profitability issues, citing rising timber prices, falling demand and lower world market prices for pulp. The company aims to focus on fluff pulp production on its remaining two lines. 80 employees have received notice, but the final number of dismissals might still change. The shutdown of the plant is scheduled for the second half of 2026.
The Skutskär plant employs about 370 people.
