European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Hedin Automotive, a Swedish car retailer, announced that roughly 100 employees are at risk of being laid off as it consolidates its production sites. The cuts will affect facilities in Borås, Anderstorp and Segeltorp. The company is reducing its 120 facilities to 110, merging several halls into single ones to streamline operations. The restructuring is aimed at adapting to market conditions and enhancing efficiency, with the goal of sustaining profitability while preserving the core of the business. It reflects a broader strategy to rationalise plant operations rather than a total shutdown. The affected jobs will be eliminated through standard dismissal procedures, with trade union negotiations currently underway.
