Description
Billa, a retail company operating within the REWE Group, announced the creation of more than 300 new jobs across its supermarket network in 2026, mainly in store operations, logistics, and retail services nationwide. The project will generate jobs in retail, construction, logistics and information-technology support roles.
The growth is driven by a strategic focus on modernising the store network, increasing the share of private-label products, and strengthening relationships with local suppliers. In its expansion the company focuses on the twin transition, investing in sustainable and digital infrastructure
The plan involves opening 10 new stores in 2026, with additional renovations of 15 existing outlets, targeting a total of 200 outlets by the end of 2028. The expansion will primarily affect retail and customer-service units in the cities of Drianovo, General Toshevo, Gulabovo, Lozen and Hisaria, with phased implementation of the new stores throughout 2026 and completion of the measure until the end of 2028.
The company’s workforce of approximately 5,600 employees will benefit from the ongoing investment in training and digital tools, positioning the chain for long-term growth in the Bulgarian market.
