Description
Maersk, a leading Danish logistics company, has leased the 71,800 m² site at the Panattoni Park Bad Hersfeld Ost and will create about 1,000 new jobs in Herleshausen, Germany. The site is expected to start operations in August 2026 and the new jobs will mainly be in warehousing, distribution, and IT support.
The expansion aims to improve supply chains within the German domestic market and strengthens the logistics hub in northern Hesse. The warehouse is well located, with strong transport connections, and photovoltaic and rainwater collection systems support the green transition.
Whilst the company announced to create jobs in Germany, it has also introduced a worldwide restructuring programme at the beginning of February 2026 cutting 1,000 jobs globally Maersk 2026 - WO.
Maersk is a globally operating company with more than 100,000 employees.
