La Maison du Sol, a French retailer specialising in floor coverings and part of the British Headlam Group, was liquidated rendering its 156 employees redundant. The company was placed in insolvency proceedings after the Headlam Group decided to divest itself of low-margin subsidiaries. It failed to find a buyer.
