Description
MHP Pet Food, a Croatian pet-food manufacturer operating within the MHP Group, announced the creation of 200 jobs at its newly opened production plant in Zlatar Bistrica near Zagreb. The plant operates in three shifts. According to the company, most employees will be recruited locally, while around 30% of the workforce will consist of highly qualified staff.
The facility started operations in 2026 and currently has an annual production capacity of 20,000 tonnes of wet pet food, with plans to increase output to 35,000 tonnes by 2028. The EUR 40 million investment represents one of the larger recent industrial investments in the area.
The factory is equipped with automated production technology and is intended to supply several European markets, including Romania, Bulgaria, Austria and Germany. The investment forms part of MHP Group’s expansion in the European pet-food sector.
