European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Ikea has issued dismissals to 56 employees at its Norwegian headquarters in Slependen, effective from April. The reductions aim to streamline operations and improve efficiency. The move follows a review of competencies, leadership, tenure and personal fit, with employees offered severance and career guidance. The process involved individual meetings and collective notifications. Workers were informed of their status, and voluntary departures occurred before the formal assessment. Trade unions were consulted throughout. The restructuring is part of Ikea’s broader strategy to enhance agility.
