European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
TE Connectivity, a US connectivity and sensor solutions manufacturer, announced the phased shutdown of its Speyer production site, which will result in the loss of 630 jobs by the end of 2028. The site will continue to employ around 140 engineering and administrative staff.
The decision comes amid a more demanding automotive market, heightened cost and competitive pressures, and weak demand across Western Europe.
The company aims to carry out the job reductions in a socially responsible manner, in agreement with employee representatives. The company plans to support affected workers through close coordination with the employment agency and internal training opportunities. The firm also wants to ensure that apprentices can complete their training.
The company employs more than 90,000 people worldwide.
