Description
Serra Soldadura, a long-established industrial company based in Barcelona’s Zona Franca, is currently negotiating a collective redundancy process (ERE) that would result in the dismissal of its entire workforce of 185 employees, around half of whom are over 50 years of age.
The firm has entered liquidation proceedings with debts reportedly exceeding €25 million. Although offers have reportedly been received for certain assets, including its industrial subsidiaries in Romania and Mexico, trade unions are calling for a solution that ensures the continuity of a business with nearly a century of history and significant technological value.
The company, owned since 2008 by the Basque group Aernnova Aerospace, designs and manufactures welding lines for the automotive sector and counts clients such as Stellantis, Mercedes and Gestamp.
