Description

Güntert Präzisionstechnik, a German metalworking company headquartered in Villingen-Schwenningen, announced the filing for insolvency in self-administration on 24 February 2026. This step leads to a reduction of its workforce from 162 to around 60 employees.

The reason for the restructuring is predominantly the company's loss of their main customer and the financial consequences this entails. The insolvency plan aims to stabilise the firm and realign its production capacities amid the challenging automotive market environment through structural adjustments intended to reduce operational costs. The company remains under its current management, with a legal firm overseeing the process and a court-appointed administrator monitoring the proceedings.

The supplier of automotive and machinery manufacturers will continue its business operations under court supervision while securing wages for the remaining staff until the end of April 2026.
