Description
Edeka, a German retail group, is expanding its presence in Bremen by opening a new 4,500-square-meter supermarket adjacent to the former Galopprennbahn. The store is set to open by 30 November 2026. It will create around 130 new jobs.
Additional stores are planned in the Überseestadt, Oslebshausen, and Tenever districts of Bremen. The development features a green roof, a photovoltaic system, and a waste-heat utilisation system, underscoring a green-transition focus.
The expansion reflects Edeka’s strategy to strengthen its local market presence while investing in sustainable infrastructure.
